SHE has been a well-known face among Pompey fans for 30 years.
Now true blue Elaine Giles, the club’s ticket office manager, is calling time on her career at Fratton Park as she retires.
She admitted she has experienced more highs and lows than most but said she will cherish the memories, especially working at the new Wembley Stadium ticket office both times Pompey made the FA Cup final in recent years.
Her loyal service was given rapturous applause by the Fratton Park faithful after the club presented her on the pitch at half time during Saturday’s match with Derby County.
Elaine, who lives in Copnor, said: ‘In tough times, you just have to get on with it and deal with what’s thrown at you.
‘It’s very sad but you have to deal with the cards you are given.
‘I stayed for the love of the club - it’s unique.
‘Being in the ticket office, I don’t see any home games but I’m looking forward to seeing a game now!’
