Harry Redknapp has indicated Jamie O'Hara will be allowed to leave Spurs on loan in January.

But The News understands the midfielder will not be returning to Fratton Park.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at Pompey and carried off a host of player-of-the-year awards after a fine campaign amid all of the turmoil.

But a back injury he picked up towards the end of the campaign required an operation over the summer and has ruled him out of all of Spurs' matches since.

Now, Redknapp has revealed he will be looking to send O'Hara out on loan to boost his fitness.

The 24-year-old built up a real affinity with the Pompey fans during his time at the club and if the Blues were still in the top flight, a move could well happen.

But O'Hara has made it clear he is intent on staying in the Premier League, with both West Ham and Wolves believed to be among the sides chasing his signature.
