POMPEY’S new owners have put pen to paper to thank fans for giving them a warm welcome.

A letter from Convers Sports Initiatives’ Roman Dubov was handed to fans who attended the Supporters’ Conference Q&A session with Blues’ chief executive David Lampitt.

The letter hints at a brighter future for the club, as three letters sent by fans to Pompey’s former owner, Balram Chainrai, remained unanswered throughout his tenure.

In the letter Mr Dubov, who is a co-owner, said: ‘This union of supporters certainly sounds the perfect vehicle for discussion and we welcome it.

‘We have already witnessed the unity of Pompey fans and I must admit that it is unique in every single way.’

He added that he hoped to be able to meet the conference himself in the future.

He said: ‘For now all our efforts and energy are on the team and the club, but once we are satisfied all is moving in the right direction we will certainly communicate again concerning sitting down with the conference.

‘I am sure that together the club, fans and our company can achieve a lot and restore the legacy of the club.’
