Simon Ferry has been ruled out of tomorrow’s visit of Rochdale.
But Andy Barcham has been given the all-clear, while Joe Devera and Shaun Cooper should return.
Ferry injured his hamstring in the warm-up before last weekend’s defeat at York, although did start the game.
He lasted 16 minutes, before having to be replaced by Romain Padovani in the centre of midfield.
Guy Whittingham has revealed, however, the ex-Celtic man remains sidelined for the Fratton Park clash with the Dale but could return next week.
At least there is more optimistic news on the other walking wounded for a crucial match for the Blues. Although, Yassin Moutatouakil is out serving the final leg of his three-game ban.
‘Simon has been going well. He has reacted well to treatment but it’s probably a little bit too early for tomorrow,’ said Whittingham.
‘Certainly, I expect him to join in training again next week.
‘Barchy had a steroid injection in his knee to try to clear up one or two things and we think he will be fine by tomorrow.
‘David Connolly was off Monday and Tuesday with a calf problem but that was just precautionary, really.
‘As for Joe and Shaun, they have both been back in training this week and there have been no reactions from them.
‘I’m pretty sure they will be involved tomorrow in some way.’
