NOTTINGHAM Forest have defended additional booking charges on tickets for Pompey’s visit on April 28.

Tickets went on sale yesterday through Forest’s booking agent See Tickets – but some fans fear the charges could put off people going.

Adult tickets are £27, senior tickets (65+) are £19, admission for under 18s is £14, and tickets for under 12s are £7.

But all tickets will have an additional seven per cent booking fee and a £2.25 postal charge on top, while fans buying tickets over the phone will be charged 6p a minute at peak times. This the cost of a single adult ticket £31.15.

Bob Beech, of SOS Pompey, said the charges will play a part in fans’ decisions to go.

Forest operations manager Brandon Furse said: ‘Our last home game of the season is always popular but realising there would be a booking fee involved for Portsmouth fans we decided to pitch the price at a lower level to be totally fair.

‘Even with the booking fee, you will find that prices for the game at the City Ground are still significantly cheaper than for the Portsmouth-Forest game at Fratton Park.’
