Have your say

Former Pompey player Jimmy Stephen has sadly passed away.

Stephen, who played for the Blues between 1949-1955, died on Monday.

He was 90 years of age.

The Scotland international made 103 appearances for Pompey after being signed by then boss Bob Jackson for £15,000, which at the time was a record fee for a full-back.

He made his debut in the 2-2 draw with Sunderland at Fratton Park on November 26, 1949.

Released in May 1955, he joined Yeovil, before becoming player/manager at Bridgewater.

He then played for Newport and Waterlooville.
