Former Pompey senior fitness coach Louis Langdown has been appointed manager of Southern League AFC Totton.

Langdown, who was at Fratton Park from January 2013 until June 2015, takes over at the Testwood Stadium with the Stags currently 20th in the division one south & west table.

Gosport Borough manager Alex Pike had been heavily linked with the job in recent weeks.

‘I’m excited about leading the challenge to develop and progress the team,’ said Langdown, who is now a lecturer in biomechanics and performance at Southampton Solent University.

‘Throughout this process it has become clear that the club is in good hands, with good people committed to driving the club forward.

‘This is a great opportunity at the right club.

‘I’m proud to start this new chapter as manager of AFC Totton.’
