Flying start for Pompey with Cardiff swept aside

Former Pompey midfielder Brian Bromley has died.

A veteran of the two epic FA Cup clashes with Arsenal in 1971, Bromley died in Southampton General Hospital on Friday aged 65.

The former Bolton Wanderers midfielder was signed for £25,000 in 1968 and went on to make 95 appearance for the Blues, scoring three times.

He later played non-league football for Waterlooville and ran the White Hart pub in Portchester.
