Hayden Foxe is pencilled in for a shock Pompey return in Linvoy Primus’ charity match tonight.

The defender was an integral part of the Blues side who stormed to the Championship title in the 2002-3 season.

More recently, he has been back in his native Australia playing for Sydney, before announcing his retirement earlier this year.

Foxe is currently back in England taking his coaching badges and has indicated he could feature in tonight’s Fratton Park clash.

If he is able to play, it will be his first appearance at Fratton Park since leaving in the summer of 2005.

The former West Ham man is among a number of familiar faces lined up to take part in Primus’ event, which kicks off at 7pm.

It will pitch a Pompey legends side against a Soccer AM XI.

Tickets are priced from £2 and proceeds will go to Primus’ Faith & Football charity to support their highly-regarded community and educational programmes in the city.

For Primus, it will be a first playing appearance at Fratton Park since his well-deserved testimonial against Fulham last July.

He is set to be joined by the likes of Darren Anderton, Mark Chamberlain, Steve Claridge, Alan Knight, Justin Edinburgh, Lee Bradbury and Vince Hilaire.

In addition, there will be representatives from the Blues’ backroom staff, including Andy Awford, Guy Whittingham and Paul Hardyman.

First-teamers Liam Lawrence, Joel Ward and Nadir Ciftci have also volunteered their services.

Meanwhile, there will be special cameos from chief executive David Lampitt and commercial director Lucius Peart.

They will be taking on a Soccer AM XI led by Max Rushden, who presents the popular Sky Sports show.

Others familiar to our television screens include Soccer AM’s Tubes, Rocket, Take it Like a Fan’s Fenners and Royle Family actor Ralf Little.

Former Quay favourite Sam Matterface, now with TalkSport, will also be lacing up his boots for the occasion.

Tickets are available to buy, cash only, from the Frogmore Road ticket office – priced at £5 for adults and £2 for under-16s.

There will also be the option to pay on the night.
