Guy Whittingham pinpointed the graft factor as the key to today’s romp over Rochdale.
The Blues cruised to a key 3-0 success over Keith Hill’s side at Fratton Park.
That definitively buried the ghost of the woeful defeat at York last weekend.
Whittingham was delighted with the application of his team and the tempo they played at.
He said: ‘It was a pleasing performance.
‘To go out and work hard is minimum requirement for any team.
‘We went out there and did that and we knew we needed to improve on that.
‘We also played sensibly, kept our heads and did the ugly stuff.
‘We were full of work throughout the team and that’s what you should have week-in, week-out.’
