Greg Halford is focused on gaining home revenge against Doncaster tomorrow.

And the Pompey defender wants to see Fratton Park rocking as his team go about putting right the 3-2 defeat they suffered against their opponents last season.

Halford said: ‘It’s a game we should win.

‘They’ve had a bit of a new lease of life under Dean Saunders.

‘Their last game wasn’t great but I think they won two and drew one before that.

‘We’ve got a lot of confidence going into the game from Ipswich.

‘It wasn’t the result we wanted but it was a good display.

‘They turned us over at our place last season with a late goal.

‘We turned them over up there, but we’ll be looking to get one over them at Fratton and win.

‘The stadium wasn’t quite full against Barnsley.

‘Hopefully the win against them and the performance against Ipswich will bring in a few more faces.

‘Hopefully we can get Fratton rocking this weekend.’

Halford has highlighted the need for a poacher in Pompey’s team – and cited Donny hitman Billy Sharp as the ideal target.

The 26-year-old felt the Blues paid for failing to take chances at Ipswich, and a fox in the box is what is needed.

He said: ‘We need to switch on a bit in their box.

‘We had so many balls between the post against Ipswich and there was no-one to get on the end of it.

‘We need a poacher, someone who can get us 20 goals a season.

‘We need a Billy Sharp or someone like that.

‘Even a Michael Chopra or somebody – someone who thrives around the six-yard box.

‘We’ve got a lot of players who can play in a lot of positions. We’re covered.

‘I can play anywhere along the back four and pushed forward against Ipswich.

‘Wardy (Joel Ward) can play anywhere along the back or in midfield.

‘Rick (Ricardo Rocha) can play centre-half or right-back, so we’re covering all the positions.

‘If we get that out-and-out goalscorer, that poacher, that would finish us off.’
