Noel Hunt was stretchered off during today’s 2-0 win at Hartlepool - but it didn’t stop the striker from using Twitter on his way to hospital.

The popular Irishman had to be carried off the pitch just before half-time after landing awkwardly following an aerial challenge, injuring his shoulder.

There were worried faces all round as his day was dramatically cut short.

But that concern soon turned to relief when the front man tweeted to celebrate Gary Robert’s goal in the win at Victoria Park.

Taking a selfie of himself with his arm looking to be in a sling, Hunt commented: ‘Get in Robbo you beauty!! Come on the boys!’

Roberts’ goal, after Kal Naismith had given the Blues a first-half lead, looked to have lifted his spirits as he went for treatment.

The News would like to wish Hunt a full and speedy recovery.
