Patrick Agyemang is attracting interest as Pompey seek to move the striker on.

The 34-year-old is out of favour at Fratton Park and been made available by boss Andy Awford.

Earlier this month his loan spell was not extended at Dagenham & Redbridge and he returned to Fratton Park following four appearances.

That was a frustrating outcome for the Blues, who are desperate to find a taker for the forward as they seek to further reduce their squad number.

But The News understands that this week there have been tentative enquiries from several clubs over Agyemang’s availability.

The developments arrive at a time when Awford had voiced his concern over a lack of interest in his out-of-favour players.

With the former QPR player out of contract this summer, a switch would suit all parties.

Now the Blues are hopeful of a successful outcome as Awford continues to revamp a squad which at one stage numbered 32.

Despite his return from his Daggers loan last week, Agyemang was not included in Pompey’s match-day 18 for the defeat at Newport County.

Instead, Awford named a bench which consisted of three defenders, with Craig Westcarr and Andy Barcham the only attacking players.

Agyemang was also not considered for reserve-team action at Plymouth yesterday as Paul Hardyman’s side drew 3-3.

Bradley Tarbuck (two) and Academy striker Lewis Gill were the goalscorers, with Tom Craddock and Conor Chaplin also given starts.

Agyemang has not been involved in first-team action since appearing as a substitute in the FA Cup defeat at Aldershot.

He has played 70 times and scored eight goals for Pompey.
