Grant Leadbitter has been given the green light to move to Pompey, according to reports.

The arrival of Blackburn’s Keith Andrews at Portman Road is understood to have opened the door for the Ipswich midfielder to leave Portman Road.

And Pompey are believed to be leading the race for his signature.

Leadbitter almost moved to Birmingham City earlier this summer but the move fell through.

The former England under-21 international would be reunited with former Ipswich team-mate David Norris at Fratton Park.

The 25-year-old’s deal at Portman Road is up next summer and fee of around £2m would be enough to secure his services.

Reports have also emerged in Norway linking Pompey with a move for Bari striker Erik Huseklepp.
