Pompey will be looking to record their second successive win on Saturday when they host Barnsley.
It’s a feat they haven’t achieved since December when they took the scalps of both Norwich and Swansea on their travels.
Pompey last met Barnsley in November, when Adam Hammill – now at Wolves – earned the Tykes the spoils with an early wonder strike.
Steve Cotterill is expected to welcome back captain Aaron Mokoena to his squad, with the South Africa skipper expected to have cleared up his work permit problems.
The Axe will, however, faces a battle for a starting spot after Ricardo Rocha starred in Pompey’s 2-0 win at the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday.
Do you think Mokoena should come straight back into the side? Or should Cotterill continue with Rocha and Greg Halford? Maybe there’s a spot for the Pompey skipper in midfield, with Jonathan Hogg suspened?
Hogg misses the game after he was sent off for a second bookable offence against Doncaster.
New signing David Cotterill is expected feature, though, after completing his move to Fratton Park.
Would you start the Swansea man? Or should he be used from the bench as he familiarises himself with his new surroundings?
Four of Pompey’s next five games are at home and this represents a crucial spell in the season.
Three currently sit below Pompey in table – Palace, Scunthorpe and Sheffield United – and Cotterill will be determined to win the lot.
Can Pompey lift themselves clear of the drop zone with an impressive run of form? How should Cotterill set his team up against the Tykes? What do you think the final score will be?
