Pompey churned out their third clean sheet on the bounce but turned in a lifeless attacking display as they ground out a 0-0 draw at Dagenham & Redbridge.
On the back of the 1-0 win over Hartlepool at the weekend, the Blues produced another solid defensive display but they rarely troubled the Daggers keeper in what was a dismal second half of League Two football.
Pompey started relatively brightly and might have edged ahead when Joe Devera’s flicked header forced a save from Mark Cousins.
But that was really their only chance of the game and they failed to get anything going in the second period.
A long range shot from Andre Boucard had Paul Jones scrambling across his goal after the break but the two sides failed to really cause many problems throughout the 90 minutes.
The result leaves Pompey in 16th in the table and five points clear of the drop zone ahead of the home game with Exeter this weekend.
