Pompey effectively sealed their participation in the League Two play-offs following yesterday’s 2-1 victory over Wycombe.

Paul Cook’s men found themselves 2-0 up at Fratton Park after 67 minutes through goals from Gary Roberts and substitute Conor Chaplin.

Sido Jombati pulled a goal back directly from a free-kick with 16 minutes of the game remaining but the hosts held firm for an important win.

The result means Cambridge can mathematically still steal a play-off spot from their grasp – but it looks like the Blues have their place finally booked.
