This is the moment Pedro Mendes crashed in his last-gasp winner against Manchester City - and sparked Pompey’s miraculous Great Escape.

The Blues’ survival hopes looked dead and buried with the match locked at 1-1 going into the final seconds.

Two minutes and 50 seconds of stoppage-time had been played when Mendes - who got on the scoresheet earlier in the game - collected the ball on the edge of the area and thrashed an unstoppable shot past David James into the top corner to send Fratton Park into delirium.

It handed Pompey their first win of 2006 and Harry Redknapp’s side never looked back from this moment, going on to seal Premiership survival in a 2-1 win at Wigan a month later.

Were you at Fratton Park for this golden game? What are your memories of the match?
