Bondz N’Gala has been short-listed for the League Two player-of-the-month accolade.
The Pompey defender has been recognised for his towering displays in October, in addition to scoring three goals.
N’Gala was only presented with a run in Guy Whittingham’s first-team at the end of September, following a hamstring injury to Joe Devera.
He has responded with some excellent performances alongside Sonny Bradley in the heart of the Blues’ defence.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the pitch, he scored twice against Rochdale and also in the win over Bury.
Also nominated for the Sky Bet award are Exeter’s Aaron Davies, Luke James from Hartlepool and Dagenham & Redbridge striker Rhys Murphy.
The quartet were chosen by a panel which included Don Goodman, Football League head of communications John Nagle, League Managers’ Association director Olaf Dixon, and Sky Bet’s Paul Wiggins.
The winners will be announced on Friday.
