Defender’s Pompey League One promotion promise

Adam Webster was named Pompey’s star man for his performance in the 1-0 win at Rodney Parade.

The young defender put in an assured performance in the centre of defence alongside Christian Burgess.

And he stepped up to the mark in style as manager Paul Cook freshened up his defensive line.

Webster was one of a number of impressive performers, though, as Pompey continue to set the pace on the road this season.

So was the News’ chief sports writer, Neil Allen, right to pick out the young defender as his man of the match for the visit to Newport?

And do you agree with his other match ratings - posted below - as the Blues posted another away win?
