POMPEY star David Norris has spoken out about his reasons for joining the Pompey Supporters’ Trust fans-backed take over bid.

The midfielder pledged his support to buy a share earlier this week, as previously reported in The News, and today we can reveal that captain Jason Pearce has also joined the scheme.

Mr Norris says he hopes the move will encourage more fans to get involved and takeover bid.

He said: ‘What the fans are doing is great. No one wants to see the club go under, and I’m happy to chip in and do my bit too.

‘They’ve backed us through a difficult few months and their support has been amazing.

‘Now that a few of us on the team have joined, hopefully it will encourage more people to get involved and help raise awareness of the scheme.’
