David Nugent has revealed he’ll be fine for Pompey’s run-in.

The Blues striker limped off in the 74th minute during Saturday’s 1-0 win at Leicester after netting the only goal.

The 25-year-old suffered a dead leg but insists it would not cause any significant problem.

Nugent, Pompey’s top scorer this season with 12 goals, said: ‘The knee’s fine. It was a bit of a dead leg above the knee.

‘It happened early doors in the second half and the pain wasn’t going away.

‘Every time I planted my left foot, the pain was still there and not going so I wasn’t able to carry on.

‘But it’s okay and I will be fine after a break.’

Pompey boss Steve Cotterill expects Nugent to get over the problem this week.

He said: ‘Nugent is injured. It will take three to five days before the injury settles down.’
