David Nugent salvidged Pompey a Boxing Day point against Millwall today.
Nugent's second-half header cancelled out Liam Trotter's first-half effort in the 1-1 draw at Fratton Park.
Pompey pushed hard for the winner late on, but didn't have enough to build on their last two away day successes.
Plenty of chances came for both sides in what proved to be an open encounter.
John Utaka and Aaron Mokoena both had opportunities in the first 45 minutes, with Millwall also threatening.
Steve Cotterill's men stepped it up after the restart but Michael Brown couldn't take an opportunity 22 seconds after the break.
Hayden Mullins then clipped the bar before Nugent had a goal chalked off for offside.
He wasn't to be denied however, and, got his reward with 17 minutes left with his seventh strike of the season.
That means Pompey are now on 29 points from 21 games ahead of the trip to Leeds.
