Fratton Park is to host Pompey’s campaign curtain-raiser for the fourth time in five years.

The Football League computer has once again been generous to the Blues following yesterday’s fixture announcement.

Rochdale will visit the south coast on Saturday, August 5, to mark Pompey’s return to League One.

And home openers have been a frequent occurrence for the Fratton faithful in recent times – with mixed results.
