Josh Passley was axed from Pompey’s starting line-up this afternoon, after turning up 25 minutes late.

Blues boss Andy Awford revealed it is the third time the right-wing back has not been punctual and, as a result, sent him home when he did turn up at Fratton Park.

Danny East stepped up to take his place at right-wing back, although he came off injured in the 43rd minute of today’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Shrewsbury.

Awford said: ‘He (Passley) was well over 25 minutes late today.

‘His professionalism isn’t good enough.’
