JOSH PASSLEY is facing a spell on the sidelines after his horror injury at Morecambe.

Andy Awford confirmed the Fulham loanee will miss tomorrow’s trip to Stevenage after a sickening incident in Saturday’s 3-1 loss at the Globe Arena.

Passley was rushed to hospital after he was left unconscious following a collision with a Shrimps player.

The 20-year-old required lengthy treatment and was given oxygen in a clash which overshadowed the game.

The right-sided player left the pitch on a stretcher and with a neck brace in place.

Awford revealed Passley was left unconscious by the collision.

It put things in perspective when something like that happens.

He was kept in hospital overnight but a CAT scan and X-ray showed no serious damage.

Under FA rules players are sidelined for a minimum seven days in such circumstances.

Awford admitted what unfolded put the disappointment of losing to Morecambe firmly into context.

He said: ‘It put things in perspective when something like that happens.

‘Our first thoughts are with Josh, and rightly so.

‘He was unconscious when the medics got to him after he landed.

‘So now we have to get the right updates on him and watch him carefully.

‘He went to hospital with a member of our staff.

‘We are guided by the medical people on something like this.

‘So we have to wait to see what they say.

‘He won’t be playing against Stevenage, though.

‘And we’ll be very careful with him.’
