Paul Cook feels a lack of penetration led to Pompey’s first away league loss.

The Blues went down 2-1 at Meadow Lane today to drop to third in the League Two table.

Cook congratulated Notts County on their victory but felt his side had the better of an entertaining game.

He said: ‘We have to give great credit to Notts County.

‘It’s about learning and we’re doing okay.

‘We’ve had a bad day but we’ll come back stronger.

‘It’s a long season.

‘We’ve stuttered with a couple of draws and a defeat.

‘But I felt we controlled the game in the second half.

‘Maybe we’re lacking that little bit of penetration in the final third.’
