Paul Cook heaped praise on fearless Pompey after taking Ipswich to an FA Cup third-round replay.
The Blues boss spoke of his contentment at sending 2,494 travelling fans home happy after the 2-2 draw at Portman Road.
Cook’s side were much the better of the two outfits as they went within two minutes of knocking out the Tractor Boys.
And the manager felt the players could be more than satisfied about the value they served up.
Cook said: ‘It was terrific game, a good crowd and two sides who had a go at it.
‘There were two teams who wanted to have a match, and when you have that you get entertainment.
‘I was looking forward to the game beforehand because I know we will turn up.
‘Hopefully those supporters go home happy tonight.
‘I thought we did more than enough to send them home happy with that performance.’
