Jason Pearce welcomed the chance to quickly bury the Derby defeat tonight.

The Blues travel to Selhurst Park to take on high-flying Crystal Palace after the 3-1 loss at Pride Park on Saturday.

The squad have been going over the reasons for the poor first-half performance, as they fell three goals behind in 33 minutes.

Now Pearce is determined to at last give his team’s travelling supporters something to cheer about on the road.

He said: ‘It’s a good thing to have Palace quickly after Derby.

‘We’ve got to go into the game, show everyone what we can do and get a positive result.

‘They’ve done brilliantly well. They have a good group of young lads.

‘We know it’s a tough game.

‘The good thing is the Palace game comes quickly after Derby. We were too open at Derby.

‘We’ve watched the DVD and know it wasn’t good enough at all.

‘We need to go again against Palace.

‘We came into the game with confidence on Saturday.

‘All the fans who go away would have been disappointed.

‘So we want to go out there and put it right.’
