Former Pompey boss Alain Perrin has been appointed the coach of the Qatar Olympic team.
The Frenchman will take up the role once his duties with Al Khor in the Gulf Clubs Championships comes to an end.
Perrin was in charge at Fratton Park from April 2005 to November of the same year.
Replacing Velimir Zajec, the 55-year-old helped Pompey stay in the Premier League.
However, with only four wins from his 21 matches in charge, he was soon replaced by Harry Redknapp who left the club in November 2004.
