Paul Cook insisted he understood Pompey fans’ frustrations after today’s 0-0 draw with AFC Wimbledon.

Boos greeted the final whistle at Fratton Park as fans made their feelings known, while the Blues dropped to fourth in League Two after the weekend’s action.

The outcome was a fair reflection of the game as Pompey struggled to create openings - despite Paul Cook switching to a 4-4-2 formation.

Cook said: ‘We started well but allowed Wimbledon to get into the ascendancy.

‘We started making the mistakes that can happen and it led to the crowd being agitated and negative.

‘There was a good crowd and a great atmosphere but there is some discontent there.

‘I can fully understand that.

‘I tell you what though, these Portsmouth fans will keep showing up.’
