Pompey fan Harry Haskett, 20, delivers his verdict on the Blues’ 3-1 home triumph against Barnet.

Back to winning ways at Fratton Park then.

Yes, although I still don’t think we have seen the best of Pompey yet.

On Saturday we were much better after scoring our first goal, but the system change was important in the second half.

With Gary Roberts injured it was a good opportunity to change things and showed we can adapt and win games.

Paul Cook shook it up, brought on Adam Webster for three at the back, played two strikers and we got the second goal.

Overall we deserved it after the way we controlled the game in the second half, while Barnet played pressing football and can be pleased how they performed.

We’re now third and that is definitely where I want to be at the end of the season, anything just to get out of this division.

Which players stood out for you?

It is between Conor Chaplin and Ben Davies, but I am going for Chaplin considering he scored two goals.

He reminded me of Wes Fogden in that role behind the striker, he works so hard and always wants to try to make things happen.

The lad has made the transition from Academy to first-team in terms of scoring goals and since pre-season has also shown he can play that deeper role.

Davies is a workhorse on the right who is becoming a cult hero. I like how he tries to get balls into the box and is getting a lot better with his delivery.

Not Kyle Bennett then – the sponsors’ choice?

When that was announced there were some people booing around me and it was a strange decision.

It seems some pick who they want to meet rather than the real man of the match, it happened with Jed Wallace a few times when he was here.

It’s not happening for Bennett at the minute but I do like him, he is a good player and – as wingers do – is going through a bad spell.

He had that chance in the second half when he shot well over the bar but still looks dangerous on the ball, even if his decision-making can be dodgy.

Bennett must have felt a bit embarrassed with that man of the match announcement, but he will come through it definitely.

An arm round the shoulder and he will be fine.

And the referee?

He was terrible for both teams. I don’t know how Martin Allen can feel he was hard done by, we both had to put up with it.

They can have no complaints about the sending off after the keeper had been done for time wasting and for the second goal they should play to the whistle.
