Pompey Academy have won the Youth Alliance Under-18 South-East League title.
The young Blues saw off Luton Town Academy 4-2 earlier today thanks to a Jae Heon Kim double and goals from Brandon Haunstrap and Conor Chaplin.
And after main challengers Leyton Orient slipped to a defeat at Watford by the same scoreline, Pompey have been crowned champions - despite finishing a point behind Orient in the table.
The league decreed eight teams would play 21 matches, which included Orient, this season.
Meanwhile, Pompey and six others played just 20. That was due to late changes in the division’s set-up.
In the interests of fairness, the league table was worked out on a points-per-game basis, with goal difference irrelevant.
And because the young Blues finished within a point of Orient, it is Andy Awford’s side who have taken the title.
