THE Football League started its annual summer conference in Vilamoura, Portugal, today
It is held annually to ratify the memberships of each club in the Championship, League One and League Two for the forthcoming season.
Pompey administrator Trevor Birch confirmed this week he has been given assurances from the football authority that the club will retain its place in League One in the 2012/13 season - even if it is still in administration.
He added the club will not receive a further points penalty.
Mr Birch, who previously said the meeting was a crucial date for the club, said he would he will not be attending the conference, which finishes tomorrow.
