Pompey have appointed Andy Melville as head of player recruitment.

Andy Awford has been assessing the club’s approach to recruitment following the departure of Martin Hinshelwood last month.

The Blues boss has now moved to install former Welsh international and Sunderland and Fulham defender Melville in the role.

Melville previously worked as first-team coach at Oxford for five years, before leaving the Kassam Stadium last summer.
