Richie Barker ripped into his Pompey players and blasted: You have 10 days to play for your futures.
The Blues’ relegation concerns deepened after slumping to an abject 2-0 defeat to Bristol Rovers this afternoon.
It was a dreadful performance from the visitors, particularly in the second half, as Rovers deservedly cantered home.
Afterwards Barker didn’t hold back with his criticism of the players he has inherited.
And many face an uncertain future as the manager seeks to turn around his failing squad next month.
He said: ‘They have 10 days to play for their Pompey futures.
‘They are where they are because they don’t do the right things.
‘I have to be careful because I am going to end up keeping some of them.
‘But they have to prove they deserve to be at Portsmouth.
‘For the first 20-30 minutes in the first half I thought we were the best team.
‘We had a couple of really good chances but it was nowhere near good enough.
‘Some of the players have not recognised how fortunate they are to play for Portsmouth Football Club.
‘Too many for me are going through the motions.’
