Andy Awford is anticipating a quiet transfer deadline day for Pompey.

The January window closes at 11pm tonight.

The Blues have already recruited Matt Tubbs, Paul Robinson, Josh Passley and Paul McCallum, while Ricky Holmes and David Connolly have departed this month.

Football League clubs also have the option of utilising the emergency loan window, opening on February 10.

In the meantime, Pompey’s boss is expecting little Fratton Park activity before today’s close of play.

He said: ‘I don’t expect too much, although you never know.

‘There aren’t too many permanents done at our end of the scale in January.

‘Have a look in League Two and how many permanent transfers are there during the season? Not many, they are all done in the summer.

‘The loan window shuts for eight days and then on February 10 the emergency loan window opens so it’s not the end of the road once today ends.

‘You gets a week’s grace, which is great as a manager, and then it re-opens and you can still do business between then and the last Thursday in March.’

Pompey remain keen to find loan takers for Patrick Agyemang, Nick Awford and Ben Close.

Bradley Tarbuck joined Dorchester for an initial one-month spell on Friday following a disappointing time at Dartford.

Earlier this month, Academy prospects Chad Field and Brandon Haunstrup linked-up with Bognor.

In addition, Jack Maloney has spent several months on loan with Southern League premier division side Poole.
