Vanessa Raynbird is stepping down from her role as manager of Pompey Ladies after more than a decade in charge.

She will be switching to a director of football role at the end of the season.

Current coach Perry Northeast and Raynbird’s assistant boss Katie Poore are to form the new management team.

The Blues missed out on a place in the revamped 2014 Super League.

But Raynbird would have been stepping down either way.

She said: ‘I have decided to step down from managing the first team.

‘My new role will be as a director of football to develop the infrastructure of the club.

‘That is the position we had me down for anyway, if we had got a Super League place.

‘Perry and Katie are going to take charge between them.’
