Pompey’s Leam Richardson has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association.

The Blues’ assistant manager was sent to the stands following a half-time clash with Cambridge United’s Mark Roberts last weekend.

For his part, the U’s captain was given a red card for violent conduct as Pompey went on to run out 3-1 winners.

Referee Seb Stockbridge subsequently sent an extraordinary incident into the FA, with Richardson’s conduct mentioned.

Now Paul Cook’s number two has until 6pm on Friday to either accept or appeal the charge.

Pompey have already appealed against Gareth Evans’ stoppage-time dismissal for serious foul play.

That will also be examined by the FA after Friday’s deadline.

If unsuccessful, Evans stands to miss three matches – starting with Saturday’s trip to Newport County.
