Pompey have completed a double loan swoop from Manchester City to bolster their hopes of staying in the Championship.
Michael Appleton has recruited 20-year-old Luca Scapuzzi – who can play in midfield and up front – and 17-year-old left-sided defender Karim Rekik from the Etihad Stadium.
Scapuzzi has featured for City in the Carling Cup and spent a short spell on loan at Oldham earlier this season.
Rekik is captain of Holland under-17s and has also played in the Carling Cup this term.
Both youngsters are highly-rated by City and will give Blues boss Michael Appleton some vital options..
They have initially joined on a month’s loan and go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s trip to Coventry.
Scott Allan has also extended his loan stay for a further 28 days from West Brom.
Meanwhile, Appleton has not lost any more of his current squad – with in-demand players such as Luke Varney, Jason Pearce, Joel Ward and David Norris all staying put.
