Patrick Agyemang and Bradley Tarbuck have both left Pompey in search of regular first-team football.

The strikers have seen their first-team opportunities limited and made temporary moves to beat yesterday’s emergency loan deadline day.

Agyemang, 34, joined League Two strugglers Dagenham & Redbridge, while 19-year-old forward Tarbuck signed for Conference Premier outfit Dartford.

Boss Andy Awford felt both needed more game time, while revealing a late third approach for another unnamed player had run out of time.

He explained: ‘It’s a difficult one because I really like Pat as a person but he hasn’t made the last couple of match-day squads.

‘Dagenham were interested, I spoke to him about it and he decided it was a good thing for him to get some regular football.

‘I went to him and asked
if the right opportunity
came along whether it would be something he would consider.

‘I can’t guarantee him football and at his age he probably needs it.

‘It’s a bit different for Brad but he needs football.

‘He needs to make the transition from youth football to first-team football.

‘I still think highly of him and he’s got a future.

‘He will get games at a decent level at Dartford and it will be good experience.

‘We can’t offer him that regular football at the moment.

‘It will do him a lot of good to play in a competitive environment.

‘We had one other approach but it came just too late in the end.’
