Frankie Sutherland has left Pompey and returned to QPR.
The teenager’s loan spell expires on Wednesday but the Blues have agreed to release him early, ruling him out of the squad for tomorrow’s trip to Hartlepool.
Sutherland made just one substitute appearance, playing against Hartlepool on January 26.
However, he was on Republic of Ireland under-21 duty last week for the Scunthorpe visit and then failed to make the squad for the defeat at Bournemouth.
Guy Whittingham told The News: ‘Frankie is going to go back to QPR.
‘He is a talented kid and probably we haven’t had the chance to put him in and give him the chance to show us how good he is because we are in the situation we are.
‘Frankie’s going to go back now - but his loan ends anyway after tomorrow’s game.’
