A teenage Pompey fan has become an internet hit after taking a ‘selfie’ picture with Scunthorpe’s goalkeeper.

Bradley Saunders seized his moment as Pompey put in a woeful away performance.

When home keeper Sam Slocombe walked behind his goal, 17-year-old Bradley spotted his chance of fame and leaned over the dividing wall to embrace the goalie and take his quick ‘selfie’ picture.

Bradley, who posted his picture on Twitter after the match, said: ‘He didn’t know much about it!

‘He was just getting a drink so I sat on the wall behind the goal, put my arm around him and took a photo. That’s probably why he looks a bit unaware!’

Some reports said that the picture was taken during the match as Slocombe grabbed a drink from behind his net during his side’s 5-1 win.

But in a tweet after the game Slocombe said: ‘Great performance yesterday from the Iron, fans were fantastic. Special shout to Pompey fans, but the selfie was after the final whistle.’

As for Bradley, since posting the picture on his @BradSaundersPFC Twitter account, he has gained hundreds of new followers and seen his picture retweeted more than 3,200 times.
