Pompey’s clash with Accrington in League Two has been postponed.
The Fratton Park pitch was inspected today with local official, Andy Davies, taking the decision to call tomorrow’s game off.
With surface water on the pitch and the forecast for more poor weather Davies felt it was the right move to make.
He said: ‘The pitch was very wet with standing water in various areas.
‘It is barely playable at the moment but we have to also take into account the weather forecast which is pretty dire for the next 24 hours.
‘The pitch is therefore unplayable and would be dangerous for the players, which is our ultimate concern.’
Tickets for tomorrow’s game will still be valid for the rearranged date, which has yet to be confirmed.
