Gibraltar’s Liam Walker was today invited to train with Pompey.

The 24-year-old caught Michael Appleton’s eye during the 4-0 defeat on Friday.

Walker, whose family come from Portsmouth, was impressive in the heart of Gibraltar’s midfield, playing the entire match.

Now Appleton is running the rule over him at the Blues’ Spanish training camp.
