Pompey’s David Forde has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad.

The keeper has received a recall having been left out of Martin O’Neill’s squad for the 2016 European Championship earlier this summer.

However, the fixtures against Oman (August 31) and Serbia (September 5) clash with his Blues committments.

Forde is playing regular football again following a season-long loan switch to Fratton Park, where he has kept two clean sheets in four matches.

The 36-year-old has appeared for his country 24 times since making his debut in 2011.
