Pompey have been named as the Football League Family Club of the Year at an awards ceremony in London.
The club beat off competition from Bury, Milton Keynes Dons, Notts County and Rotherham United to pick up the award.
Pompey’s marketing executive Tom Gorringe said: ‘Everyone talks in dire terms [about the club’s future] but in your heart of hearts you just know that whatever happens some form of Pompey will always be there.
‘As long as there’s a fan base there will be a football club and the fans will drive forward what we do.’
The south coast club were nominated in two other categories and missed out to Rotherham who took the community club award.
Millwall’s Tamika Mkandawire received the Player in the Community award ahead of Pompey star Joel Ward.
Former Pompey player Matt Ritchie, now at Swindon, was named League Two winner player of the year
