Paul Jones has rejoined former club Crawley on a month’s loan.

Pompey had been keen for the 29-year-old keeper to be given first-team action having recently returned from a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Now an agreement has been struck with Crawley for an initial month.

Jones previously made 105 appearances for the Reds before he was recruited by then-Blues boss Andy Awford on a free in the summer of 2014.

Pompey manager Paul Cook said: ‘He was on the bench Saturday but we have Brian Murphy back from his concussion.

‘We have a fantastic young keeper arrive in Ryan Fulton.

‘Paul needs to play football.

‘It’s a situation we’ll monitor for our best benefit.’
