Pompey have signed former Scotland international Christian Dailly.

The former Charlton defender has signed a one-month contract with the Blues after The News revealed yesterday that we was training with Steve Cotterill’s side.

The 37-year-old has signed on a free transfer after his contract at The Valley expired at the end of last season.

Dailly, who can also play in midfield, represents Cotterill’s sixth signing of the summer, following on from the arrivals of David Norris, Stephen Henderson, Luke Varney, Jason Pearce and Greg Halford.

Daily will be on the bench for Pompey as they kick-off their 2011-12 Championship season at Middlesbrough today.
