POMPEY have been hit with a £4,000 fine for their players’ role in the half-time clash with Cambridge United’s Mark Roberts.

And Leam Richardson has been landed with a £750 punishment and handed a one-game touchline ban after the incident against U’s earlier this month.

Roberts was handed a red card for his part in the melee in the match which Pompey won 3-1.

Goalkeeper Aaron McCarey was seen to clash with Roberts on the pitch in the flashpoint.

Referee Seb Stockbridge filed an extraordinary incident report in which Richardson was mentioned.

Pompey accepted the charge and Richardson will now be confined to the stands against Mansfield on Saturday.

Gareth Evans will also miss the game as he finishes a three-game ban for serious foul play after a red card in stoppage time in the Cambridge game.
